THANKS TO YOU and support from 650 other petition signers, initiation of a Santa Cruz Slow Streets Program was UNANIMOUSLY approved by the Transportation & Public Works Commission this evening and now goes to City Council next week for funding consideration, along with adoption of the City budget.
Given funding shortfalls in the City General Fund, the Commission has recommended that up to $200,000 be allocated from the Measure H Street Fund - NOT the General Fund - to pay for the support and improvements needed to make Slow Streets program real in Santa Cruz as soon as possible and through the pandemic.
We will be forwarding this petition and your support on to the City Council with the recommended action of the Commission. Your continued support will help make Slow Streets a reality in Santa Cruz as it is in so many other cities. If you do not support the funding needed for the program, you can remove yourself from the petition below.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING TO MOVE SLOW STREETS AHEAD IN SANTA CRUZ!
And please keep sharing this petition!
Onward, safely!
