Ask the President to instate a federal rent cap

The Issue

Currently the average price for rent across America for a 1 bedroom is $1700 while the Federal Minimum wage sits at $7.25 and equals out to $1160 at full time wages which now means people making the minimum wage can no longer to rent in a majority of America. What's more is that landlords and rental companies currently require people to make 3x the monthly rent which means people need to make $5,100 a month to rent an Apartment across America.

Since Landlords demand tenants make 3x the rent then the President needs to instate a Federal Rental Cap that reflects their demands.

This would look like states without their own Minimum wage (those who rely on the federal minimum wage) to cap out their rentals at $386.66 for a 1 bedroom; 20 states totally rely on Federal Minimum Wage and do not have their own. The way we'd figure out state or local caps would be Minimum Wage x40 x4 ÷3 an example being the federal minimum wage and would look like $7.25x40x4÷3=$386.66

2 and 3 bedrooms should cap out at 2/3s local wages, using the previous example states using the Federal Minimum wage would have 2-3 bedrooms cap out at $774 a month.

If rent is capped property taxes should also drop since people can't artificially drive up neighborhood prices with exhorbitant rental prices.
