For those not familiar with Niko's case ....his full story is posted below and some of the story can be found on his petition. With that said...Niko has been sentenced to be euthanized due to being deemed dangerous (read story) his second offence he is accused of killing a cat which he clearly did not. His owner has filed appeal papers. But due to the time Niko has been in doggie jail ....he is suffering from kennel stress therefore needs out. Not back to his owner but released to an approved rescue. That is what we are writing and emailing for. Too save his life. Hi everyone.. Ok so I told you guys I would tell the whole story last night.. Here it is ... In 2014 Niko bit a dog protecting me and Audrey the dog was being very aggressive towards us .. And I guess Niko was threatened by that .. Niko could have killed him but he bit him and came back to us the dog came back for more..I guess Niko was trying to tell him to leave us alone..Niko payed him no mind after he bit him..I didn't have to stop him .. It wasn't vicious..But he is protective of us..well it ended up going to court. My mom was very sick and ended up passing away. I didn't make it to court. Animal control was aware of how sick my Mom was. I got the court date mixed up with everything going on with my Mom so they deemed him dangerous. I truly feel if I had of been there to tell Niko's side of the story this wouldn't have happened. The rest is about the cat which happened on a Saturday and that Monday I had an appointment to get everything done for Niko that needed to be done. Well he ended up going to the Spca that Monday. He was never court ordered to be taken there. If I had known then what I know now I would have never taken him there. I would have taken him to his appointment. Yes Niko was in the cat owners yard on the side of the house . The cat was in the front and the story of where the cat was found has changed. First he was in the bush , then on the sidewalk. Niko never made it to the front. I was there and got him .. This lady was swinging her cat in the air saying look what your fu***** dog did to my cat .. I was in shock standing there with my mouth wide open not believing what I was seeing .. Then she said my best friend works for animal control I will make sure she has your dog put down. This cat had no marks on it at all.. It was soaking wet cause it was raining.. My neighbor had told me this dog kept coming to her house trying to get her dog and she believed he had killed her cats.. I'm saying this cause the cat owner said there had never been any strays around our neighborhood. So not true. I had taken pics of some in our yard and put them on face book to try and find their owner. The cat owner got in court and told the judge how she picked her cat up and cradled it. I told my lawyer she was lying and told him what she did. He said nothing. I had to tell him this in court because we never sat down and talked about the case. I met him once for 5 mins. He was in a hurry because he had to pick his son up. He told me I'm not representing your dog I'm representing you.. He never cross examined themnor anyone else that took the stand. With all this being said, I'm just trying to get this overturned.. Niko was never represented. My lawyer didn't care. He could of had it thrown out at the beginning of the trail when animal control lied and said Niko was found with the cat in his mouth. He told my lawyer this before our hearing started so my lawyer told me and he said I needed to plead guilty. I said no that's a lie and I'm not. He went back and told him and he changed his story bNo one seen Niko with the cat. Why didn't my lawyer do something?!! I just want justice... Yes Niko bit the dog.. But he didn't kill the cat... He is not a mean dog by any means ... He just happens to be a pit .. No matter what happens I know Niko didn't do this. The people at the Spca know Niko is not mean in any way... I just pray to GOD they spare his life...he doesn't deserve to die. He is not vicious in any way......toward people or animals.
