On behalf of the Anonymous Hockey Parent team and all of our Anne Arundel County Hockey Parents who utilize Piney Orchard Ice Arena, we would like to say THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who supported us and our kids. We appreciate every signature, every email, every letter and every word of encouragement. Late last night we received an update from our individual hockey league that the arena had updated their policies. Per the new policies, parents will be allowed to stay on the premises during practices. Masks must be worn on property even outside unless you are in your vehicle. If parents do not comply they will be asked to leave. In addition to being allowed to stay on property, parents will now be allowed in the ice arena for weekend games! This is a huge win! Parents will be issued a pass by their team managers to be allowed to enter for the game. Temperature checks, masks and social distancing marking will be the new normal. Each team will also be appointing a "Covid Manager" who will help assist other parents in following these directions. We were not expecting to be let into the ice arena, just be allowed to be on property, so we are appreciative of the rink's response! We are hopeful for the future as we work to keep the kids safe and keep them playing! Thank you again to everyone who supported us in our quest for fairness and safety!
