Let Gamers Choose – Enable Anti-Cheat Support for Linux/SteamOS

Let Gamers Choose – Enable Anti-Cheat Support for Linux/SteamOS
The Issue
As an avid gamer, I believe we should be able to use whatever operating system we prefer without being forced into Microsoft Windows. Yet today, Linux and SteamOS gamers are unfairly excluded from many of the world’s most popular multiplayer games — Fortnite, GTA V Enhanced, Rainbow Six Siege, and many more — simply because their anti-cheat systems refuse to support open platforms.
This issue affects students, hobbyists, developers, privacy-minded players, and anyone who values freedom in technology. It forces an unfair choice: abandon your preferred system and its freedoms, or give up access to major parts of modern gaming. That’s not inclusion — that’s monopoly.
The technology already exists to fix this. Proton, Wine, and SteamOS have proven that Linux gaming is real, powerful, and growing. Yet without proper anti-cheat support, entire communities remain locked out. Imagine a gaming world where your operating system empowers your experience, not limits it — where security, privacy, and fair play go hand-in-hand.
It’s time for game developers and anti-cheat providers — including Epic Games, Rockstar, Ubisoft, Easy Anti-Cheat, and BattlEye — to recognize this demand and implement Linux support. By doing so, they will unlock access for a passionate and growing audience, strengthen their communities, and ensure gaming is truly for everyone.
Sign this petition to demand fair anti-cheat support on Linux and SteamOS. Let’s make gaming inclusive, open, and free — no matter what system you choose.
