In North Dakota, families of transgender kids are being forced to leave the state just to get their children the medical care they need. 

A judge has just upheld a state law that bans doctors from providing gender-affirming care to minors, including puberty blockers and hormone treatments. These are not experimental procedures — they are recommended by major medical organizations and can be life-saving for many trans youth.

Before the ban, there were doctors in North Dakota who provided this care safely and responsibly. Now, families have to miss work and school and drive hours out of state just to protect their children’s health. Some have even lost access to care entirely.

This law is hurting real people. It takes away the rights of parents to make medical decisions for their own kids, and it blocks doctors from doing their jobs. Most of all, it punishes transgender kids who are already vulnerable and just want to live as their true selves.

We’re calling on North Dakota lawmakers to repeal this harmful ban and let families decide what’s best for their children.

Letting a child be who they are is not abuse. It’s love. And loving parents should be supported, not criminalized.
