Reclaiming the Republic 

This petition is the first in a 5-part campaign to reform democracy in America — starting with the most basic right: ballot access.

In a Republic that claims to stand for freedom, fairness, and democracy, the right to appear on the ballot should never depend on your political party.

Today, independent and third-party candidates must navigate a broken, biased, and burdensome system of 50 different ballot access laws—each with its own deadlines, signature requirements, and legal traps. These laws don’t exist to protect voters. They exist to protect the two-party monopoly.

In many states, it’s easier to run for Congress as a Republican or Democrat than it is to get on the ballot as an independent for President. That’s not freedom. That’s a rigged system.

We, the undersigned, demand:

🔹 That Congress and state legislatures establish uniform, reasonable, and non-discriminatory ballot access standards for all federal elections, including President.

🔹 That any candidate who meets the legal requirements in their state be guaranteed ballot access without arbitrary or excessive barriers.

🔹 That equal treatment be given to independents and third parties — because the Constitution doesn’t recognize parties, it recognizes people.

🔹 That federal minimum standards be created to ensure equal voting rights and candidate access, regardless of what state a voter lives in.

Constitutional Backing:

The First and Fourteenth Amendments protect freedom of speech, political association, and equal protection under the law.

The Supreme Court has ruled in cases like Williams v. Rhodes and Anderson v. Celebrezze that states cannot impose rules that make ballot access “virtually impossible” or discriminatory.

Ballot access is not a privilege reserved for the powerful — it is a fundamental pillar of a free election.

The Reality:

In 2024, independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared on the ballot in just 14 states — despite widespread public interest — because ballot access was too complex and costly in the others.

That’s not democracy. That’s gatekeeping.

Our Republic Deserves Better

We don’t care if you’re left, right, libertarian, green, centrist, or completely independent. If you’ve earned a place on the ballot — you’ve earned the right to be seen.

Let the people choose.

Let every voice on the ballot be heard.
