I live in Orange County, NY. I suffer from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (also known as CRPS/RSD). It is a debilitating disease and I am now disabled. I receive treatment from doctors in New York City in the “Congestion Pricing Zone” (below 60th Street). I cannot take public transportation into the city due to my illness and rely on family to bring me there. There is an exemption for NYC residents as long as they have proof they are disabled. We need that same exemption outside of NYC. I am writing this petition to make NYS aware that there are plenty of people outside of NYC (including NJ)who get treatment in the city and cannot afford to pay an additional $9 every time they have an appointment. We already have to pay for the highways, bridges and tunnels. Why should we be punished for being ill?
