"LET COWICHAN DECIDE"
Petition to the BC Provincial Government 

Attention: 
Premier Christy Clark,
Minister of Education Don McRae,
Opposition Leader Adrian Dix,
Cowichan MLA Bill Routley,
Nanaimo-North Cowichan MLA Doug Routley.

The democratically elected Cowichan School District #79 Trustees were fired by the BC Government’s Minister of Education George Abbott for failing to submit a balanced budget for the coming school year, and replaced by a part-time Minister appointee.  

The elected Board had requested additional funding to offset some of the shortfalls that had resulted from previous years of reduced provincial funding. 

I believe that qualified voters and taxpayers in the Cowichan School District #79 should be represented by an elected Board of School Trustees.  I want the BC Government to approve a by-election to be held within sixty (60) days.

Taxation without representation is unacceptable.
