Bunsen Burner, professor Catherine Volle’s  chocolate lab, has been a significant source of emotional support and positivity for students in the Russell Science building. Bunsen’s presence has been therapeutic for students. Bunsen helps students de-stress, find comfort, and stay grounded after long days in class. Bunsen has become an integral part of the Cornell community, and he provides relief in an often rigorous academic environment. 

For many, Bunsen has been a bright spot, a reason to smile, and a companion who makes it just a little easier to get through the day. His presence has contributed to the well-being of countless students, and he deserves to remain a part of the Russell Science Center. We urge the administration to reconsider their decision and allow Bunsen to continue supporting students in the Russell Science building.
