Less restrictions on teens viewing sexual content (safe ways)

I would like to express my concerns regarding the new ban on individuals under 18 accessing pornography and hopefully aim to outlaw this . While I understand the intent behind this decision, I believe it may be both unnecessary and potentially harmful in practice.

During adolescence, young people naturally experience sexual development, curiosity, and desire as part of growing up. It is common for teenagers to seek out sexual content, and many turn to pornography as a way of exploring these feelings. Although it is not a perfect solution, this behavior is often a safer and more private alternative to engaging in sexual activity at a young age.

If teenagers are denied access to sexual content entirely, they may be more likely to act on their curiosity in real-life situations they are not emotionally or legally prepared for. The law often treats sexual encounters between minors as non-consensual, even when both parties are underage and willing. In such cases, what began as a natural exploration of sexuality can lead to legal consequences and emotional distress. Many parents, if given the choice, would likely prefer that their child explore these feelings privately through viewing sexual content rather than engaging in early physical experiences that carry greater risks.

Although some pornography is unhealthy or inappropriate, not all content is harmful. Rather than imposing a blanket ban, a more balanced approach would involve comprehensive sex education, open communication, and access to safe and moderated content. This would help teenagers develop a realistic understanding of sexuality and respect for boundaries and consent.

Removing access does not eliminate the underlying curiosity. It simply pushes it into riskier and more unregulated spaces. I urge you to consider whether this ban will truly protect young people or if it might lead to more dangerous outcomes.

Thank you
