Legalize Personal Cultivation and Possession of Cannabis up to Defined Limits
Legalize Personal Cultivation and Possession of Cannabis up to Defined Limits
The Issue
I, like many others, have constantly observed how countless individuals are getting caught smuggling cannabis from different parts of the world. As much as this appears to encompass a flawed infrastructure, it is an opportunity for both consumers and governments alike.
The legalization of the personal use of cannabis has been a topic of heated debate for a while. Proponents argue that besides providing relief from various medical conditions like chronic pain and anxiety, it could help regulate an industry currently dominated by the black market. A legal market could also provide significant tax revenue to governments. According to the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP), as of October 2020, Colorado - where marijuana was legalized in 2014 - has generated more than $1.6 billion in marijuana tax revenue.
Therefore, it becomes incumbent upon us to transform the way we perceive and handle the use of cannabis. This petition aims to legalize the personal use and cultivation of cannabis - permitting individuals to carry up to 10 grams and cultivate up to two plants per household.
By setting such clear boundaries, we can mitigate the risk, replacing criminal syndicates with a controlled, taxed, and monitored system - benefiting both the government and consumers.
Call on your lawmakers to review and reform the laws surrounding cannabis. It is high time we adapted our legislative approach towards this plant and the potential advantages it augurs. Sign this petition and join the movement for change.
