The Issue

My Fellow Texans,

The time has come to take a stand. Across the country, more and more states are legalizing marijuana—boosting their economies, reforming outdated laws, and giving their citizens the freedom they deserve. Yet here in Texas, we remain stuck in the past, clinging to prohibition policies that do more harm than good.

If you are someone who enjoys the legal cannabis products currently available in Texas—whether for relaxation, wellness, or medical purposes—you know firsthand the benefits and relief they can bring. We have ignorant fools running our state government who call THC poison, yet they conveniently ignore the horrible effects alcohol has on a person over time. Imagine a Texas where marijuana is fully legalized: no more legal gray areas, no more confusion about what’s allowed, and no more fear of prosecution for a simple plant. The war against marijuana in Texas only leaves room for malevolent actors to run their own illegal market. Marijuana is a harmless flower, and it should be treated with the legality of the Bluebonnet.

Why This Matters:

  • Freedom of Choice: As Texans, we value personal freedoms. Our state should represent the pinnacle of individual liberties. Legalizing marijuana would give adults the right to make their own decisions about cannabis, just as they do with alcohol and tobacco.

  • Economic Growth: Full legalization would create thousands of jobs, attract new businesses, and generate millions in tax revenue—funding schools, infrastructure, and healthcare.

  • Justice Reform: Minor marijuana offenses still lead to arrests, fines, and criminal records. The sale or distribution of THC-derived products is not a moral crime, only a statutory one. It’s time to end these outdated punitive measures.

  • Medical Access for All: While Texas has limited medical marijuana laws, many patients are still left behind. Full legalization would ensure every Texan has access to the relief they need.

Our Call to Action: If you support the right to access safe, legal cannabis in Texas, now is the time to act. By signing this petition, you are joining thousands of Texans calling on our lawmakers to:
  • Pass legislation to fully legalize and regulate marijuana along with all derivative products for adults 21 and over. Including a general prohibition of use of smokable varieties in public areas.
  • End the criminalization of non-violent marijuana-related offenses.

  • Create a fair, transparent system for legal cannabis cultivation, distribution, and sales.

  • Ensure tax revenue from cannabis sales goes toward public services and community programs—with a dedicated portion specifically allocated to subsidizing lunches in public schools throughout the state, so no child ever has to pay for a school lunch again.
