I am a motorist in Ohio, and every day I experience the dangers of being unable to legally lane split. It's safer for us to be able to move between lanes of slow or stopped traffic, rather than sitting vulnerably behind a vehicle and risking getting hit from behind.

Lane splitting is not just about convenience; it's about safety. According to a study conducted by the University of California Berkeley, motorcyclists who split lanes in heavy traffic are significantly less likely to be struck from behind by other motorists, suffer fewer head injuries, and are less likely to endure fatal injuries (UC Berkeley Traffic Safety Center).

Ohio is currently one of the 49 states where lane splitting remains illegal. This puts our state’s motorists at unnecessary risk every day on our roads. By legalizing lane splitting we can reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety for everyone.
