Hello Minooka Residents, 

We are requesting you to sign to legalize Golf Carts in our community, and your time and help are greatly appreciated!

Allow the Use of motorized vehicles that do not exceed 20mph such as Golf Carts, Scooters and E Bikes on Public Roads Under Safe and Regulated Conditions. Only to be used on roads that have a speed limit less than 30mph.

We, the undersigned residents of Minooka and its surrounding communities, respectfully petition the Village of Minooka to consider adopting an ordinance that allows the use of golf carts on designated public roads within village limits, under clearly defined and enforceable safety regulations.

Purpose of the Petition:

Our goal is to provide residents with alternative and recreational modes of transportation while promoting community engagement, responsible recreation, and local mobility. We believe that, with appropriate guidelines, the use of these vehicles can be both safe and beneficial to our community.

Proposed Guidelines for Safe and Responsible Use:

We propose the following safety and operational guidelines to ensure public safety and order:

All vehicles must be insured, registered with the village (possible fee to help bring in revenue to the village), and display a permit.

Vehicles must be equipped with necessary safety features, such as:

Headlights and taillights

Brake lights and turn signals

Rearview mirrors

Reflective materials for visibility

Operation shall be permitted only during daylight hours or with functioning headlights at night.

Speed limits shall be enforced consistent with posted village limits.

Operation shall be prohibited on state highways or other high-speed roads not explicitly designated by the Village.

Reckless driving, noise violations, and riding on sidewalks or private property without permission shall be strictly prohibited and penalized.

Community Benefits:
