LCS - Rebuild trust with the parents

LCS - Rebuild trust with the parents

The Issue

The students, staff, and families of Lansing Christian School (LCS) have put immense trust in our school board to uphold values of transparency, integrity, and accountability. However, recent events have shattered this foundation of trust. The way the board, under the leadership of Jeremy Zajicek, has handled recent conflicts has left the school community feeling ignored and undervalued.

Numerous attempts by concerned parents and staff to engage in meaningful dialogue have either been outright dismissed or met with platitudes rather than concrete actions. This has eroded the relationship between the board and the families who depend on them to make decisions in the best interest of our children’s education and well-being.

According to multiple surveys and feedback collected from the LCS community, trust levels in board leadership are at an unprecedented low. In times where the educational landscape is already fraught with challenges, maintaining a solid partnership between school governance and the broader school population is not a luxury but a necessity.

A prompt and public acknowledgment of these issues by the board, specifically through the demand of Jeremy Zajicek’s resignation, is a crucial first step in rebuilding trust. Following this, a special board election should be convened to ensure that the voices of those most affected by board decisions — the parents, teachers, and students of LCS — are heard and represented.

This is the only way forward for LCS to hold true to its commitment to equip young men and women to engage the world for Jesus Christ. Your signatures will not only signify our unified demand for change but also propel us towards an educational space built on trust and cooperation.

Please join us in urging the board to take immediate action by signing this petition. Together, we can restore the governance that our school community deserves.
