update: since starting this petition for how high our electric bills have been. we had a category 4 hurricane rip through our perfect little paradise and knock out our very expensive electricity. Now you would think with lcec getting as much money as they've had been and with the community being affected the way they have, they'd accept outside help to get us all up and running right away. we'll on the news I hear they only accepted outside help from florida no other state. so I called lcec to get an understanding of this and they claim they have a 1000 ppl from outside helping. I'm sorry but we have over 30k ppl here trying to help get us back and you only have a 1000k? something doesn't sound right. sounds like they want to keep the money we been spending and will likely raise our rates again. This is bullshit and we shouldn't still be out of power almost a week later. I demand something be changed immediately and we deserve some credits after this shit. sign this to put some pressure back on them. 

UPDATED: I didn't know at time of creating this petition that lcec serviced more then just cape coral and nfm. Now I have learned that it's really not only lcec fault but also fpl. With that being said this petition is extending out to ALL LEE COUNTY RESIDENTS that are feeling affected by this rate hike in electricity cost. Let's come.together as a community and get these signatures to a point where someone has to listen!!! so lee county let them hear you and sign and share away!

The citizens of cape are outraged over the cost of electricity over the last few months since January first. They have doubled the rates for electricity from month to month and Why did the "Power Cost Adjustment" go from $0.00630 in January to $0.05550 in July? according to their app my current billing period was 22.5% higher this year than last year. How is this even possible? I used almost 500kw less electricity the month prior and my current bill is $40.00 higher. I'm a single male living on my own in a 1600sqft home with a only a 4 year old a.c that I keep now ( to keep electricity down) at 79° all day and night never move it. The fact my bill is over $330.00 is outrageous and I feel bad for the families of 3 or more paying 500+ a month to just simply live. How do you expect ppl to pay this continuously? Yall need to reevaluate the price per kw that you are charging people or florida power and light ( FPL) and the city of cape coral need to step in and take control of this situation. You will lose alot of ppl to solar when the cost of a payment is cheaper then your monthly bill and can atleast budget for it. Change needs to happen now not later!
