Due to Covid-19 and the campus shut down, students have lost most food service locations to spend their flex dollars, that were mandatory to pay for with residence tuition. The closure of both Tim Hortons locations, Starbucks, Topper's pizza, and the main great hall food court, has left students with few options to use this money that will become worthless if not spent. Spending over 500$ on snacks and junk food is unhealthy, and Laurentian should work to provide students with options such as partnering with Sudbury grocery stores and restaurants or allow students in their final year to use their leftover flex dollars towards tuition and classes.
