Launch More Major Annual Music Festivals like Lollapalooza in Scotland

The Issue

I adore music and I am a firm believer in the fact that music can majorly improve mental health. Living in Scotland, I have been through countless moments of artists announcing a “world tour” and Scotland being missed out, or a festival being announced with all my favourite artists and being unable to travel.

There are so many festivals in the world in places like England, America etc but a lack of major music events in Scotland and although trnsmt is a big festival in Scotland, there is plenty space and opportunity for us to have more like in Dundee etc.

Personally, I am unable to travel far for concerts, the closest venue to me is over 1hr away and that’s the furthest I can travel. Every time I see a festival lineup with all my favourite artists I get extremely excited until I realise it’s across the ocean and I can’t make it.

I would love to be able to see all my favourite artists in a festival, bringing more yearly festivals to Scotland would be perfect. People would travel here to see the festival so it could up our economy as well as improving mental health in the country.

I would absolutely adore to see my favourite artists performing at a 2-4 day long festival that runs yearly, it’s a great way for other people to experience Scottish culture as well as helping improve mental health among others.

Every time I am at a concert, I feel like I have never been happier, my mental health improves so much, that’s why I love concerts so much and I know I am not alone in my major appreciation for music and I just know how much this could mean to a load of people in and around scotland unable to travel far.
