The issue

All animals deserve a voice. As a passionate advocate for animal welfare, it breaks my heart to witness the increasing incidents of cruelty towards animals at Kingsbridge Park. As residents and stewards of our community, we cannot stand by while innocent creatures suffer in silence.

Currently, Kingsbridge Park in WA has become a distressing hotspot for animal neglect and abuse. The council have allowed fishing to take place in the vicinity and the carelessness of not disposing of fishing hooks and lines appropriately is causing harm to the wildlife residing there. The stories are deeply unsettling on local community pages stating birds have purposely been entangled and hooked. And fish are being put in plastic bags, cut open across their mouths and left of the footpaths to die a slow, painful death.
A collaborative effort between RSPCA WA and the local council is crucial. By launching a local campaign, we can combine enforcement with comprehensive educational initiatives. This campaign should aim to educate the public about recognizing signs of abuse and provide clear guidelines on how and where to report incidents. Furthermore, workshops and community meetings could be held to empower locals to actively protect the animals in their vicinity.

Statistics from the RSPCA indicate that community-involved efforts significantly decrease the rates of animal cruelty and increase successful interventions. With Kingsbridge Park posing a significant concern, now is the time to act.

By signing this petition, you are giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves and urging the RSPCA WA and local authorities to take immediate action. Let us unite as a community to foster a safe and compassionate environment for all creatures that share our space. Please sign and share to protect our beloved animals.
