A message from Brian Fowler: I want to thank everyone who signed the petition supporting keepboernequaint.org. While a great first step, we have many more to climb along this path before being finished. Remember our first phase is to engage the city and CVS in a conversation that hopefully will bring all the parties to the negotiating table to reassess options. Next will be encouraging city council and Planning & Zoning to start the process of amending current zoning rules related to important business districts like the Historic District and River Road. Lastly we will continue to develop our Downtowners-Boerne organization. Below is an excerpt from an article that will hopefully be printed in the Boerne Star tomorrow. "The keepboernequaint petition has gathered nearly 4000 signatures. Each signature supporting the position that we do not want a CVS store in our historic district today or in the future. Our organization will remain active and continue to encourage our city leaders and CVS that alternatives need to be considered. We remain very hopeful that all parties involved will continue to work toward the best solution for our community.” The key to our success will be our focus and persistence to not let up until we see the type of changes in our city that truly represent what our community desires.
