Many people do not realize that running a state is not just about the people or buildings. This is why we are deciding to speak up for those who cannot-that is, the animals. 

Roughly about 1.5 million animals in  the United States are euthanized each year. This is because of three primary reasons, sickness which most times, is not preventable, overcapacity, and because shelters are not able to afford to care for them in terms of sickness or general needs. We are trying to change this starting with our own state, Maryland. This may not apply to you but you can still make a change. By adding your signature onto the petition, you can help reduce the number of animals being put down by kill-shelters which put animals down due to the two last previously stated reasons.

   In 2019, Delaware became the first state to pass laws making it the first no-kill shelter state. We are attempting to allow Maryland to follow in it's footsteps by gathering enough signatures to pass laws.

   You may still be asking what the purpose of this is and this following will tell you. We care because without us, animals have no voices among people. We are allowing them to speak through us and tell their side of the story. By supporting this petition and no-kill animal shelters, you are supporting them as well.
