The Gore Creek Valley is an important tributary of the Lane Cove River which is the heartbeat of Lane Cove. We are petitioning Lane Cove Council, Australian Unity, Pathways and the State Government to stop the destruction to the environment and local amenity through the development of 266 Longueville Road (and give the community back its playing fields)DA117/2017; to stop the construction of a multistorey sports facility on the golf course and tennis courts at 180 River Road DA64/2021; to not proceed with the roundabout and access to the proposed facility via Stephenson Street and save the people who live in the adjacent homes; to stop the Pathways development which was rezoned and our neighbourhood shops were taken away as well as creating traffic chaos (DA113/2020) and to stop laying synthetic turf over Gore Creek Oval at the end of the tributary at the mouth of the Lane Cove River. This petition is to stop the destruction of the Gore Creek valley through the developments listed above and to save it for us to use now and our children to use in the future. We the residents object to these developments and petition you to stop them.
