LUSU have had their funding cut down from previous year and this will affect the students in the coming year. The proposed scenario would lead to every sports team member having a compulsory gym pass, which many students cannot afford and some lesser known sports team will struggle to gain members with the increase of total membership fees.

The income of the university is over £200 million per year, of which approximately £90 million comes from tuition fees. 

LUSU get around £1 million per year and their job is to make the students life at the university as enjoyable as possible. However from your tuition only 1% of what you pay would go towards your enjoyment and as a consequence sport club members will have to pay even more money to the university in order to receive funding.

We propose that you increase the percentage of our tuition fees that get paid to our students union to better reflect on what students are wanting.

An increase of 1% would mean an extra £1 million for the students union to use and would increase our satisfaction greatly as it would put less of a stress on many people financially.
