We are hoping to hold a public meeting regards saving the Whalley Library. A request has been made to the County Council to share the running costs and overheads of running the library, so this can be shared publicly at the meeting. As it stands this is not available for Whalley Library alone and we have been told that it will take 2 weeks to prepare the report, which should be freely available upon request as part of the freedom of information act. Once we have this report we will organise a public meeting. I will keep everyone posted on developments. In the meantime please share this e-petition with all your friends and family. If we hit 5000 supporters we get the right to take the floor at the County Hall Chambers to address the County Council directly about the threatened closure of Whalley Library.
