Friends,
Hoping you all had a blessed and happy Thanksgiving. It has been a couple weeks since our last update but the work continues.
In case you missed the last update: we had a huge milestone win just before the holiday. The King County Council unanimously approved a 6 month moratorium on the zoning of all industrial lots within 1/4 mile of the Cedar River in unincorporated King County. This directly impacts the old Sunset Materials and proposed asphalt plant location.
Tonight your presence is requested at the Greater Maple Valley Unincorporated Area council meeting. 7:00 PM at the Fire Station on 231st in Maple Valley. Lakeside Industries will be providing a comprehensive overview of their plans. For detailed information about the meeting, please visit: www.gmvuac.org.
This update also brings some other great news! The public comment period has been officially extended to December 31, 2017. Please make sure you are reading the SEPA checklist and zoning details about the project and submitting your comments to the King County Department of Permitting and the King County Council.
Mark your calendars now for the public hearing scheduled for January 8, 2018 with the King County Council. The time is TBD and will be sent out as soon as it is posted.
Thank you for the continued partnership! Together we can protect our homes and our community!
