Petition 1688 proposes an industrial scale solar operation to be developed on two parcels of farmland at 81 and 93 Lake St. in Manchester, Connecticut. Lake Street is NOT the right site for an industrial scale solar operation. Unfortunately this beautiful prime farmland is not going to be protected. The Connecticut.Siting Council unanimously voted to approve petition 1688 last week. A very shortsighted decision. The council members do not care about the quality of our soil, our drinking water, our peace of mind or our safety. Thank you to everyone who signed this petition. Thank you to everyone who wrote letters of opposition to the Siting Council. This is a terrible loss for the environment. This is a terrible loss to all of the wildlife in the area. My heart is very sad.
