Thanks so much for all the support! As of this moment 167 local citizens have signed the Petition. If you have not signed yet, please do so. If you have signed, please get at least one friend/neighbor to sign.

The developer's "Trial Balloon" Sketch Plan shows Apartment buildings 5 stories high. I suspect that they led with that so they could come back, reduce it to 3 stories and say "we listened to the community". In my opinion, the only acceptable outcome is no annexation, no development.

Below is another image from the City Website and a message I sent to the City Council earlier today. Thanks again for your support and spread the word. We need to mount a swarming offense against this project!

Hello. This morning I posted the Petition below on Change.org asking the Lafayette Councilors to not annex the Lafayette Marketplace property. The response has been startling! In just a few hours 130 local citizens have signed the petition. We expect the number to continue to grow.

The developer proposes a preposterous number of new homes - 650. The project is jarringly out of character with the surrounding area. Already the Silo and 40 North projects will add nearly 1,000 homes to this agricultural land. Arapahoe already is a parking lot. This project is the last thing it needs. The nearby elementary schools are at capacity.. And we have no water! Whatever water source the developer claims to have should be used to supply existing homeowners and businesses.

This land is not presently in Lafayette. The developer has zero legal rights to develop it. The only right they have is to request annexation. And the Lafayette community is asking you, politely, to not annex it. The sooner the Councilors vote to not annex, the sooner the developer can stop wasting money pursuing this monstrosity."
