LA STRADA E IL PONTE TEMPORANEO SUL FIUME: UN PROGETTO DEVASTANTE PER IL PARCO DEL SERIO

I Cremaschi hanno sempre considerato il Parco del Serio un luogo da proteggere e rispettare.
Un gioiello naturale, ricco di biodiversità, dove convivono molte preziose specie vegetali e animali.
Ora che le estati diventano sempre più torride e metropoli come Milano investono milioni per creare nuove aree verdi, è evidente quanto la ricchezza di questo patrimonio per Crema sia incommensurabile. Una risorsa insostituibile per la vivibilità dell'intera cittadina.
In questo contesto il Comune di Crema, in un temporaneo stato di reale emergenza per la chiusura di un altro ponte, progetta di costruire una strada per automobili che attraversa il Parco del Serio prospettando dunque la distruzione di un equilibrio preziosissimo.
Un patrimonio che dovrebbe rimanere tutelato, protetto e arricchito ora e per tutti gli anni a venire.
Trovare ristoro all'ombra dei pioppi è importante per i Cremaschi di tutte le età, ma anche per le migliaia di turisti che popolano la città tutto l'anno. Il Parco del Serio offre percorsi pedonali e ciclabili comodi e accessibili a tutti, comprese le persone non vedenti (grazie ai recenti investimenti del Comune per adeguarli) ed è un luogo di incontro per famiglie e sportivi (con una palestra a cielo aperto e un lungo percorso ad anello ideale per attività di camminata, corsa, bicicletta).
Ma il parco è soprattutto un polmone verde che genera l'ossigeno di cui Crema ha molto bisogno.
Sia d'estate, con il caldo sempre più torrido che toglie il fiato soprattutto nelle zone di cemento, sia d'inverno con la nebbia che intrappola lo smog.
Proporre la costruzione di una strada all'interno dello stesso è un progetto devastante, una ferita impossibile da rimarginare. Il Comune di Crema è determinato ma riteniamo che questa sia un'opzione da escludere.
La strada costruita nel parco confluirebbe in via IV novembre, sede di un nuovo asilo comunale che aprirà in autunno, e arteria fondamentale per il veloce scorrimento dei mezzi di soccorso. Una via già fortemente trafficata, soggetta spesso a lunghe code, che non è in grado di reggere ulteriore traffico in ingresso.
Lo stesso per via Cremona dove si formerebbero code all'imbocco del nuovo percorso.
Inoltre, per la realizzazione della strada asfaltata tra via IV novembre e via Cremona verrebbero abbattuti numerosi alberi (pioppi, salici, aceri e querce), portando un totale sconvolgimento di rumore, smog e traffico in un luogo di pace.
Scelte che risulteranno letali per l'ecosistema del parco e, a catena, per la salute di tutti i Cremaschi (la qualità dell'aria in città e l'inquinamento acustico aumenterebbero notevolmente).
Infine: le radici degli alberi secolari reggono tutta la riva del fiume. Sradicandoli il terreno cederà più facilmente, dunque anche questi lavori sarebbero a rischio, così come tutto il centro di Crema e Castelnuovo, in caso di esondazione del fiume nei periodi delle piogge.
Il Parco è un patrimonio naturale unico e insostituibile. Un equilibrio frutto di decenni di cura e protezione. Costruire una strada al suo interno non può essere 'provvisorio e reversibile', come ha affermato il Sindaco.
Se questo progetto verrà realizzato distruggerà in modo irrimediabile una ricchezza naturale, un patrimonio che è di tutti e che da millenni contribuisce al benessere dei cittadini Cremaschi, in qualsiasi zona della città.
Solleviamo la nostra voce in difesa del Parco del Serio, per il nostro presente, ma anche per il futuro delle generazioni a venire.
Per questo stiamo promuovendo una raccolta firme e chiediamo all’Amministrazione Comunale e ai politici di trovare soluzioni diverse per gestire la temporanea chiusura del ponte di via Cadorna e l’inevitabile enorme disagio per gli abitanti delle zone adiacenti.

People of Crema have always regarded the Serio Park as a place to be protected and respected.
A natural gem, rich in biodiversity, where many precious plant and animal species coexist.
Now that summers are becoming increasingly scorching and cities like Milan are investing millions to create new green spaces, it is clear just how immeasurable the value of this heritage is for Crema. An irreplaceable resource for the livability of the entire town.
In this context, the City of Crema—currently in a temporary state of genuine emergency due to the closure of another bridge—plans to build a road for cars that would cut through the Serio Park, thereby threatening to destroy a precious ecological balance.
A heritage that should be preserved, protected, and enhanced now and for years to come.
Finding respite in the shade of the poplar trees is important for the people of Crema of all ages, but also for the thousands of tourists who visit the city year-round. Serio Park offers walking and biking trails that are comfortable and accessible to everyone, including the visually impaired (thanks to recent investments by the city to make them accessible), and serves as a gathering place for families and athletes (with an outdoor gym and a long loop trail ideal for walking, running, and biking).
But above all, the park is a green lung that generates the oxygen Crema so desperately needs.
Whether in summer, with the increasingly scorching heat that takes your breath away—especially in urban areas—or in winter, with the fog that traps smog. Proposing the construction of a road within the park itself is a devastating project, a wound that can never heal. The City of Crema is determined to move forward, but we believe this is an option that must be ruled out.
These decisions will prove devastating for the park’s ecosystem and, consequently, for the health of all Crema residents (air quality in the city and noise pollution would increase significantly).
Finally: the roots of these centuries-old trees support the entire riverbank. Uprooting them would cause the ground to give way more easily, thus putting these construction projects at risk—as well as the entire downtown areas of Crema and Castelnuovo—in the event of river flooding during the rainy season.
The Park is a unique and irreplaceable natural heritage. Its balance is the result of decades of care and protection. Building a road through it cannot be “temporary and reversible,” as the Mayor has claimed.
If this project goes ahead, it will irreparably destroy a natural treasure—a heritage that belongs to everyone and that has contributed to the well-being of the citizens of Crema for millennia, in every part of the city.
Let us raise our voices in defense of the Serio Park, for our present, but also for the future of generations to come.
That is why we are organizing a petition and calling on the City Administration and politicians to find alternative solutions to manage the temporary closure of the bridge on Via Cadorna and the inevitable major inconvenience for residents of the surrounding areas.

In questo contesto il Comune di Crema, in un temporaneo stato di reale emergenza per la chiusura di un altro ponte, progetta di costruire una strada per automobili che attraversa il Parco del Serio prospettando dunque la distruzione di un equilibrio preziosissimo.
Un patrimonio che dovrebbe rimanere tutelato, protetto e arricchito ora e per tutti gli anni a venire.

Scelte che risulteranno letali per l'ecosistema del parco e, a catena, per la salute di tutti i Cremaschi (la qualità dell'aria in città e l'inquinamento acustico aumenterebbero notevolmente).
