Discrimination of any kind is wrong. Stephanie Kamari is ready to stand out there and be a trailblazer. Stephanie has never been afraid of a challenge, starting at the age of 4, she was Easter Seal of Central Illinois Poster Child (now called Ambassador). She has cerebral palsy and walks with crutches. She's never let her disability take away any of her ability. She's never said "I can't" or "It's too hard." Her father taught her how to walk, when every doctor said she couldn't, by grabbing her ankles and placing her feet saying "bend your knee, take a step." She's lived this phrase her entire life, putting one foot in front of the other. She's been around the world and inspiring many people along the way.
For many years, this girl from the Midwest dreamed of being an actor and was turned away for years. She kept fighting and believing that she can help make a path for everyone that comes after her. Now, having the chance to be a model in an open forum with many eyes upon her, she believes this is the next step to shed light on people with disabilities and show that we need to focus on ABILITIES not DISABILITIES.
New York Fashion Week just allowed a girl to do the catwalk in a motorized wheelchair. LA needs to let STEPHANIE KAMARI do it without heels and with her crutches!
Will you help her "Bend her knee and take a step" into the new experience?
Tell LA Fashion Corner that we want STEPHANIE KAMARI to walk the CATWALK and raise awareness for people with disabilities!
