❌❌ URGENT!!! PLEASE READ and SHARE!!! ❌❌ 2nd rescue plea for Smokey A5204759

Good morning all, this is the second rescue plea for Smokey. He has been here since 07/28/18. Any help in helping exit Smokey ASAP is appreciated, thank you.

08/01/18

Smoky came to greet the runner and had a low wag. He was a bit fearful, but was easily leashed. On his way to the catch pen, he appeared to be scared of the dogs barking at him and would pull slightly to get away from the dogs. Once he passed the barking dogs, he calmed down and walked next to the runner. Smoky went into the catch pen without a problem, but was a bit fearful. He was a little stiff when the handler was collaring him, but allowed the runner to to collar him without a problem. Once Smokey entered the play yard, he appeared to be a little tense and would walk around slowly, letting the other dogs greet him. He tried to play with one of the dogs, but stopped after a couple of seconds. He kept to himself after that and was more worried, anxious, to leave the yard. He would run back and forth from fence to fence. Smoky did not orient and was distracted by the environment. He was tense with the runner when being collard. During the Handling Assessment. Smokey had soft eyes, a low tail with a soft wag and would yawn a lot. Smoky would get stiff, but would be ok with the handler touching his mouth and ears. When the handler would try to touch his paws, Smoky would move his paw away and turn around to look at the handler. The handler slowly grabbed his paw again and Smoky was real stiff but allowed the handler to grab his paws. The handler grabbed all four paws and the whole time, he was stiff.

Smokey was at the front of the kennel, jumping up and barking when the runner approached. He quickly shifted to the back of the kennel when the runner began to unlock the door. He had a tucked tail, whale eyes, ears were down and body cowered. The runner called the dog over and with some coaxing was able to safely remove him from the kennel. He walked on leash nicely but is environmentally fearful and does attempt to run through the barking dogs. He is easy to be collared but was hesitant to greet dogs, had a tucked tail and looked for the exit. He was led into the yard by the handler and ran past the other dogs. He was able to greet the other dogs briefly before seeking comfort under the handler. He kept his distance from the other dogs and did not correct them when they attempted to mount him. He needed the handlers to correct for him. He is very friendly and submissive to the handlers. He is able to explore the yard on his own. He is soft, mellow and keeps to himself. His preferred playstyle is gentle/dainty and he is tolerant of the other dogs. He should remain in calm groups of dogs. Smokey has yet to build his confidence around other dogs. He is available for public adoption with children middle aged or older, Large CALM dogs are OK.
