Hello, just a reminder 4782917-Kipper, a 5 year old male German Shepherd who is being rechecked for second round CIRDC tomorrow 10/12. Kipper still has purulent nasal discharge and if his exam is the same tomorrow, he will be euthanized. He has until 10am 10/12.

#A4782917 My name is KIPPER and I'm an approximately 5 year old male German Shepherd. I am not yet neutered. I have been at the Carson Animal Care Center since 9/27. I will be available on 9/27. You can visit me at my temporary home at C343. My former family who owned me for more than a year had to give me up because they were moving. But they said that I spend most of my time outdoors, but it's not ideal. I seem to be good with small children. I have not been housetrained. I have not learned how to walk on a leash. I may need obedience class.
ASSESSMENT! A4782917 Kipper
Kipper was in the kennel lying down with his ears up, soft wag and soft eyes. He sniffed the runner's and leash. He began nibbling at the leash but the runner was able to place the leash over the dog. He walked out of kennel without pulling and walked nicely. He bypassed the dogs and showed no concerning behavior. He came into the catch pen, he growled and showed teeth. He walked away from the dogs and explored the catch pen. He was led into the play yard, where he began to salivate quite a bit and avoided the dogs. He tried to find a way out of the yard, eventually settling down with correction. He roamed around the yard and stuck closely to the handlers. He was calm, mellow and kept to himself. He showed no concerning behavior throughout his time in the yard and eventually lied down until he was allowed out.. He has a preferred playstyle of gentle/dainty and is tolerant of the other dogs.
