KILLED 7/5/17 Before shelter opened! Poco had a foster and a rescue. The rescue sent a "DO NOT EUTHANIZE" Letter to the shelter and they killed him anyway. Removing all the emotion, effort, coordinating, etc...killing a dog with a committed rescue (partnered with the shelter or not. Just a 501c3 designation is needed. Not only was this dog only available for one day, then the shelter closed for the holiday, and then he was killed hours before the shelter opened today. The shelters KNOW the hoops rescues were jumping through to get dogs out for the biggest dump week of the year. To come in and either not look at email to see which dogs had rescue commitment or just arbitrarily decide to start killing dogs is wrong. Whoever is responsible did not do their JOB. They broke the law. People who do not do their jobs and commit crimes at work should not be able to keep their job. A note has been placed but it will not hold him here. His behavior is not friendly and we are limited on space. His review date with us is today 7/3/17." RESQ-BHV - These animals are in need of immediate rescue commitment. They have already met their legal retention period and have been evaluated and found to not be suitable for public adoption. Once an animal is designated RESQ-BHV it will be given 5 days for rescue organizations to commit to adopting. The holding period will end on the review date. If your organization is interested in a dog that is RESQ-BHV, they will need to contact the Rescue Coordinator prior to the review date to make arrangements to adopt.
