Today we lost 5 precious souls from the Carson Shelter. Their crimes; well, there were none. 2 of these dogs had ADOPTERS ready to pick up their dogs today and the CARSON SHELTER in LA COUNTY chose instead to MURDER them. Why? We don't know. Hundreds of people spent days, weeks and months networking these dogs only for them to end up dead.
R.I.P. Morley, Lorenzo, LP, Tuck and Jeremy - MURDERED at The Carson Death Camp 7/3/17 - You were loved, yours lives mattered & you will be missed sweet babies. Run free.
I told you that this would be a story of sadness and loss and a story of triumph and goodness.
The video below is of Sonny (fka CRUSH) from the Carson Shelter. The video was made by his trainer and his best friend in the whole world, his trainer, Stefano Filippelli. The Animal Debt Project rescued Sonny after he had lost 25 lbs and was abused and tortured at the shelter and was tagged as a CODE RED dog. We know this is FACT.
The video is 9 minutes longs and I implore you to watch it. This is a RESCUE ONLY WAIVER Pit Bull, who under the new policies and DICTATORSHIP of LA COUNTY, would have been PTS. Sonny is not and never was a vicious dog. Sonny was a terrified and broken dog after his time in Carson. When he was rescued, they used a catch pole and a broom to remove him from his kennel, laughing and high fiving each other as our puller had to stand by and watch in horror as Sonny fought desperately to free himself. They injured his mouth and broke his teeth and still Sonny's amazing spirit fought his way back. Those of us who worked so hard to save Sonny owe so many people a huge debt of gratitude. I wanted to share this video and Sonny's story because the dogs who died today, were all Sonny's and they never got their second chance.
We MUST work harder and we MUST get these policies, laws and regulations changed all over the country.
Please continue to share. Be their voice! We cannot let them die in vain - their lives must mean something to us all.
