Dear supporters, thank you for joining us on this campaign. We have started this campaign on the evening of Feb 7, 2021. In less than 6 hours we went over 1000 signatures and in less than 24 hours we went over 4000 signatures.

The university leadership, Chancellor Subbaswamy, Provost McCarthy, Vice Chancellor LaBanc, Dean Ashley and Associate Dean Cardoso-Erase were included in this petition's notifications and they got an email alert everytime we had reached a new milestone.

We had alerted the UMass Graduate Student union and asked for their support. They have spotlighted our mission and included our petition in their weekly newsletter yesterday. We have reached out to local and regional news outlets including Daily Hampshire Gazettte, New England Public Media (NEPM), Boston Herald and Boston Globe. 

We are happy to say that the university has placed Theta Chi on "interim suspension", pending an investigation by the Office of Student Conduct. We were notified yesterday by Rick Sobey who has reported on the news of suspension but not of our petition. Only giving a voice to the university leadership.

But our voice is stronger and louder. Our list of supporter keeps growing by the minute and we should not stop here! 

An interim suspension is not what we want! This fraternity had been suspended before and they had been accussed of sexual harrasment many times in their history at UMass.

We WANT the university to take a PERMANENT action against THETA CHI and we WANT it NOW !
