So, I haven't had a chance to thoroughly check it, but some changes have been made to the English reservation system already. Here is the response I got from KNPS regarding fixes to be implemented. □ 민원 답변 내용[국립공원 예약통합시스템(영문버전) 개선 요청-로져 셰퍼드] Replies to the petition by Roger Shepherd re: Improvements to the English version of the KNPS totalized reservation system. ○ 국립공원 예약통합시스템(영문버전)은 외국인 이용 편의를 위하여 2015년 말에 구축 완료하였으며, 올해 3월부터 서비스를 제공하고 있습니다. The KNPS totalized reservation system (English version) was built at the end of 2015 for use by foreigners. The system has been in service since March of this year. 1. 국립공원 영문 홈페이지에서 영문 대피소 예약페이지로 더 쉽게 들어갈 수 있도록 개선 - 국립공원 홈페이지 담당부서(홍보실)와 협의 완료하여 링크작업 개선 작업 중입니다. Better access from the KNPS English homepage to the KNPS English reservation page - We have completed discussions with the Promotion Dept that is responsible for the KNPS homepage. Work on improving the links is underway. 2. ‘make a reservation’ 탭이 영문 홈페이지의 지리산, 설악산, 덕유산, 소백산의 하위 각 페이지 내에 탑재되도록 개선 - 국립공원 홈페이지 담당부서(홍보실)와 협의 완료하여 링크작업 개선 작업 중입니다. Make sure the ‘make a reservation’ tab found anywhere on the home page functions for all the relevant parks; 지리산, 설악산, 덕유산 and 소백산 - We have completed discussions with the Promotion Dept that is responsible for the KNPS homepage. Work on improving the links is underway. 3. 두 사이트(국립공원 영문 홈페이지와 영문 대피소 예약 페이지)에서 작동하지 않는 페이지는 작동이 되게 하거나, 불가하면 없애도록 조치 - 국립공원 홈페이지, 국립공원 예약통합시스템(영문버전) 각각 사이트 연동 및 기능 점검 중에 있으며, 개선 작업 중입니다. Fix the dead pages on both sites – or remove them. - We are investigating the links inter-operation and functions between the KNPS homepage and the English Reservation system. Work on improving in this area is underway. 4. 대피소 예약 페이지의 ‘대피소 예약현황 상세보기’ 창도 모두 영어로 표기 - ‘대피소 예약현황 상세보기“ 창 모두 영어로 표기 작업 완료하였습니다. Full English language as well on the 대피소 예약 현황 상세보기 booking page. - This has been completed. 5. 예약확인서에 특정 대피소나 공원의 입장시간에 관한 명확한 설명을 넣도록 개선, 매우 중요함 - 국립공원 홈페이지에 링크되어 있는 “입산시간지정제(산행 목적지, 거리와 산행시간 등을 고려하여 탐방로별로 입산․통제시간을 지정․운영하는 제도)”에 대하여 담당부서(방제관리부)와 협의완료 하였으며, 영문 콘텐츠 추가 번역하여 국립공원 예약통합시스템(영문버전)에 제공(링크)할 계획입니다. Explain clearly on the confirmed booking ticket what the entrance hours are for that particular shelter or park. - Re the designated entry times policy (a policy determining the time of park entry and closure for each route in the park based on the destination, distance and duration of the hike), we have completed the discussions with the responsible department (Incident Management). We plan to translate more English contents on this and will provide the links to this information in the English reservation system. . 6. 예약번호가 대피소로 제대로 전달되어 대피소에서 예약이 확인되도록 개선 - 내국인 결제 완료된 예약건 리스트와 외국인 예약 완료된 예약(현장 결제)건 리스트를 각각 출력하여 당일 외국인이 대피소 이용에 차질 없도록 대피소 현장관리자 교육 실시 완료하였습니다. ⇒ 추후 내국인 결제 완료 리스트와 외국인 예약 완료 리스트가 함께 출력될 수 있도록 시스템 개발 조치할 예정입니다. The booking number needs to filter to the shelter so that they know the booking has been made! This is critical!! - We have completed training the shelter managers to ensure that they will print the list of Korean guests who would have paid the cost when they booked the shelter, as well as the list of foreign guests who are expected to pay at the shelter so foreigners will not face issues on the day. - At a later date, we plan to develop a system function so the list of Korean and foreign guests are printed on one report. 7. ‘예약내용 인쇄하기’ 선택 추가 - 예약 내용 인쇄하기는 브라우저에서 제공하는 인쇄기능으로 사용할 수 있으나, 외국인 편의 제공을 위하여 별도의 예약확인서 출력 가능토록 조치 완료하였습니다. ※ 우리 공단 대피소 예약 관리 정책상 예약확인서로는 예약자 본인 확인이 불가하여, 반드시 예약자 신분 확인 절차를 이행하여야 합니다. (10번 참조) A ‘print the booking’ option tab. - You can use a browser-provided function to print the booking. However, we have completed providing a separate ‘print the booking’ function to provide convenience for our foreign users. - Please note our shelter policy stipulates that you cannot confirm your identity with the booking receipt only, but must go through the ID authentication process. (Refer 10) 8. 비자/마스터 카드로 결제할 수 있는 기능을 선택사항으로 추가 - 외국에서 발행된 카드는 현재 예약통합시스템에서 결제가 불가능하며, 외국인이 국내에서 발행된 카드를 보유해야만 결제가 가능합니다. 외국에서 발행된 카드로 결제 시 시스템 에러 등 여러 문제점이 발생(*)하여 외국인 경우에는 예약을 완료한 후 대피소 현장에서 결제하고 이용할 수 있도록 되어있습니다. * 결재 시 여러 문제점으로 인해 외국인의 경우 대피소 예약 후 이용하지 않더라도 위약금을 부과하지 않고 있으며, 미결제 상태에서도 현장 결제 가능하도록 예약이 자동 취소되지 않고 유지됨을 알려드립니다. A payment option using Visa or Vaster card. - The current KNPS totalized reservation system does not accept the foreign issued credit cards, but can process only the cards issued in Korea. Due to system issues we have had with the foreign-issued cards, we allow foreigners who have reservations to pay on arrival at the shelter. - Please note that, due to the issues relating to payments, neither do we levy fines to foreign users even if they do not show up after booking, nor do we cancel but keep the unpaid foreigners’ bookings as valid so they can pay at the shelter when they arrive. 9. 국적에 상관없이 모든 사람들에게 규칙이 일괄되고 동일하게 적용되도록 개선 - 내국인 예약 조건과 동일하게 예약개시(매월 1, 15일) 시간을 대피소 10:00, 야영장 14:00에 외국인도 동일하게 예약개시 시간 적용할 계획입니다. ※ 예약 개시일 7월 1일에 시스템 테스트 확인 후 다음 예약개시일(7월 15일) 부터 일괄 적용할 계획입니다. Keep the rules consistent and the same for everyone, no matter what nationality. - We plan to apply the same rules for the opening times for the booking cycle (1st and 15th of each month) to both foreigners and Korean users. For the shelters booking opens from 10:00 on the first day of each cycle, and for the camp sites booking opens from 14:00. - We plan to test this for the 1 July booking cycle. We plan to implement this policy to everyone from 15 July. 10. 예약번호가 대피소에서는 인정될 수 있도록 개선 - 국립공원 예약통합시스템 예약 시 개인정보 보호를 위해 타인의 명의를 도용하거나, 불특정 다수에게 예약 내역을 무단으로 양도/양수하는 불법행위 및 일부 단체(산악회, 여행사, 동호회 등)의 과점을 막기 위하여 “예약자 본인 확인 절차”를 우리 공단의 예약관리 정책으로 운영하고 있음을 알려드립니다. ⇒ 예약자 본인 확인을 위해 여권 또는 외국인등록증 등과 예약자명을 대조한 후 대피소 이용이 가능하도록 되어있습니다. (내국인 예약정책과 동일하게 적용하고 있음.) The booking number needs to be recognized at the shelter. - Please be aware that we have implemented an identity authentication process as part of our reservations management policy. This is to protect personal information and is designed to prevent people from using false or other’s names when booking the shelters, to prevent people from handing over the bookings to others without permission which is illegal, or to prevent certain groups (commercial hiking groups, tour companies, and hobby clubs) from monopolizing the available shelter spaces. - Foreigners can use shelters after the staff has checked guests’ ID, using such documents as passports and foreigner registration cards, against the booking records. (The Korean guests too are subject to the same policy.) I have also replied to them personally informing them that I'll be monitoring their fixes.
