I began another petition simultaneously at epeople.go.kr but it is a weak platform as there is no tool for signatures, basically one voice against a govt dept won't work. Anyway I have received a response that gave me no confidence. If you read it you will see it provides no concrete timelines or plans, and although reactive to my queries, it is almost hard to believe that anything would have been considered otherwise. It even suggest (perhaps by mistake) that ID cards or passports are more vaild than the psuedo booking number. That's a little precarious. Here is the body of that; Hello, This is the visit culture department in KNPS. First, I’m sorry for uncomfortably using the reservation system and shelters. The reservation system for foreigners was made last year and opened early this year. So, it isn’t a little enough. We are struggling to improve the foreign booking system and will fully accept your opinion; add Sobaeksan (Yeonhwabong shelter), translate English, and incorrect all things in some pages. In the future, it will be increasingly the better homepage. The link from KNPS English homepage to English reservation site will be soon made by cooperation between departments. And the entrance hours could be different from shelter respectively, usually between 4pm and 6pm. When you check in the shelter, you must show the staff your passport or identification to prove yourself. ID card is critical, not the booking number. If you don’t have a ID or passport, you are not able to use the shelters. And, I did email you on May 9th, response to your email(roger@hikekorea.com) on May 6th. After all, thanks for your deep interest and opinion in Korea National Park. If you have a further inquiry, please contact the customer center (1670-9201).
