Kolkata Deserves Better
The Issue
Dirty streets. Broken roads. Dengue season. Crumbling health centres. How much longer do we normalise this?
We love Kolkata. But loving a city doesn't mean staying silent when basic civic services keep failing.
Every day, citizens deal with overflowing garbage, clogged drains, damaged roads, poor street lighting, and the same promises repeated year after year. Then the rains arrive—and so do water logging, mosquitoes, and the annual fear of dengue and malaria.
This isn't "just how Kolkata is."
It doesn't have to be.
We're demanding action—not excuses.
📍 Clean streets and regular garbage collection in every ward.
📍 Proper drain cleaning and waterlogging prevention before and during the monsoon.
📍 Safe roads and functional street lights across the city.
📍 Regular mosquito-control drives, fogging, bleaching and effective vector-control measures.
📍 Fully staffed municipal health centres with doctors, healthcare workers and free essential medicines.
Why these matters
Good civic services are not a luxury. They're the bare minimum.
A city that asks its citizens to pay taxes must also deliver clean neighbourhoods, safe roads and accessible healthcare.
We're not asking for favours.
We're asking for accountability.
One signature won't fix Kolkata overnight.
But thousands of signatures will make it impossible to ignore.
If you've ever:
walked through flooded streets,
worried about dengue,
complained about broken roads,
or waited endlessly for basic civic services—
this petition is for you.
✍️ Sign. Share. Speak up.
Because a better Kolkata starts when citizens stop accepting "this is normal."
