Petition to keep the old PlayCatan (www.playcatan.com) servers active forever

The Issue

Keep the old site PlayCatan (www.playcatan.com) forever going.

A lot of people play and love it but it's going to be closed.

The replacement (Catan Universe) is terrible.

Hey all!
I finally (and reluctantly) ventured onto Catan Universe to try out the new platform. So far I've played 2 games against only computer players and here's my feedback:

The game play is VERY cumbersome. The animations and music, while beautiful, are excessive weight. The player has the option to turn off the music; why not have to the option to turn off the animations (instead of just speeding them up, which doesn't speed them very much at all)?
Zoom: I'd like to be able to zoom out to see the entire gameboard without being partly covered by the overhead player banners. I figured out the roller ball on the mouse will zoom but even all the way zoomed out the board is still partly covered.
Resources hand: It's a bit of a chore to figure out which resource cards you hold. Yes the cards display at the bottom of the screen, and multiple cards overlap, but once you have more than 3 a number appears on the face of the card and this number is displayed below the level of the screen. So I can see 3 overlapping wheat cards but I actually hold 4. In order to see the exact number I click on my resource hand, which raises the cards onto the screen, then click the individual resource which raises it even higher so I can see the number. The resource logo is also not seen on anything but the top ore cards and the shades of green for wool and lumber are pretty close.
Trades: The trade screen is overdone in my opinion. Like so much else in this interface, it doesn't need to be so "in you face". The way it blocks the entire screen is bad as I sometimes make trades based on other players' accessibility to resources. There's also no way to make counteroffers and no way to offer an open ended trade (wheat for ?).
I'm not of fan of having to scroll down to another screen and then back again to build.
I haven't utilized the chat as I've only played the computer so I cannot comment on it.
I'd like to see more of a seam between players' turns (audio or visual cues). I was surprised several times by how quickly my turn came back around without realizing.
I would find it easier to visualize the board if the hexes didn't have the thick beige border. If the resource colors extended all the way to the edges (or at least closer) I think it would be easier to quickly scan the board in the initial placements.
I think this is enough for now. Simply put, I feel the new interface is a way to make a simple game overly modern. Is there a way to add a simple basic game without all the bells and whistles to Universe, more closely aligned to what currently exists on PlayCatan? I know there will be a LOT of people missing the old interface and, to be honest, I'm not sure I will continue to play as frequently since I'm not a fan.
