PJDLink Action Group Malaysia
The Issue
Since 2012 when KIDEX (Kinrara Damansara Expressway) became gazetted, the Federal Government decided to bring unnecessary cross-city highway into densely populated Petaling Jaya. KIDEX highway was mooted as an arrangement during BN's time. It was designed to tax road users via city-toll, and a major developer-money-making machine. Over time, as it failed to provide TIA, SIA, EIA (impact analysis reports), Selangor government cancelled it. However, this was all a lie.
An alternative company renamed KIDEX as PJDLINK back in 2016, and it is embedded in the Selangor Structural Plan 2035 -- Therefore, for the next 15 years, it can be relived again! This means, Selangor state government has taken the Rakyat for a ride. Who's idea was it to re-brand KIDEX as PJDLink?
The highway serves no purpose; as Kinrara / Bukit Jalil to Kota Damansara area has no urgent practical need to traverse these 35kilometers, for the cost of the highway's project. Also, it will acquire a few hundred properties along the route. Why then is PJDLink so adamant to start this? What is their justification?
The elevated portion of 22kilometers (63% of a 4-7 story high-rise road) will be dangerous to the properties below, damage the skyline of P.J. city, and displace many old residents, living for more than 50 years. Worst of all, the estimated project costing is RM 2.6B, RM 75M / kilometer; which is 7-8x the cost of standard highways. The developer is milking the government, deploring the Rakyat's welfare, and vehemently pushing their agenda to start in Dec 2021. Why is this allowed to happen?
Till now, many news articles have rebutted PJDLink's claims. Transport experts mentioned of a practical need for a more efficient public-transportation model since 2015. Why is this advice unheeded? Why deny the Rakyat of Public Transport?
As many as 1300 houses in P.J. have actively protested with banners. The Rakyat will not back down till PJDLink is ended for good. We ask the Rakyat to support this petition and ongoing social activities.
