give parents the right to decide between online classes or in classroom schooling

give parents the right to decide between online classes or in classroom schooling
The Issue
I am starting this petition in response to Governor Kim Reynolds executive order forcing kids to go back to school this fall during the Covid-19 pandemic and taking the option of online classes/ social distance learning away from the parents.
I am asking for that right to be restored back to the parents and for Governor Kim Reynolds to resign from her position or to be removed from it. Her decision is reckless, irresponsible and endangers the life of our children and our families. Many families have children or high risk members with underlying medical conditions in their households which make them vulnerable to this virus. It should be the parents decision on the risk they want to take for their children and their family. Parents who are comfortable with sending their children to a classroom should have that right. But the parents who are protecting loved ones such as their children should have the right to a second option of online/social distance learning. By giving this executive order, Kim Reynolds was negligent in her duty as a governor and has stripped the parents of the right to make the best decision for their kids.
We should look at facts instead of fiction.
According to the CDC website:
-people of any age with certain underlying medical conditions are at an increased risk from this virus. That means our children too.
-to protect our children we need to put distance between them and other people outside of your household. A classroom setting makes it nearly impossible to socially distance .
-children over the age of 2 is recommended to wear a mask when social distancing is not acceptable. No mandated state rules to wear a mask. And even if it was, it would be almost impossible to enforce a smaller grade student to wear it all the time.
-Limit children's time with other children. If children meet in groups it puts everyone at risk. I would say a classroom full of students would be considered a pretty large group.
-children may not be effected too bad by the virus and may not get to badly sick but are "carriers" of the virus and can bring the virus home to other high risk members in the household that are vulnerable and could succumb to the virus
Lets also mention the Mulit-system Inflammatory Syndrome in Children. This is a condition where organs of the body can become inflamed including the heart, the lungs, brain and etc. This condition can be fatal and it now known that many children with MIS-C had the virus that causes Covid-19.
Our governor has sold our children out and put them in a hostage situation over money. Lets talk about the white elephant in the room. It is a known fact that Trump threatened to hold funding if kids did not return to school. Our governor sold us out and traded our kids, their safety and their health for money.
Our state is now considered a "red state". Our numbers are increasing dramatically everyday and it will not take long for our hospitals to be over run and our medical staff workers to be overworked.
Governor Kim Reynolds should not be in charge of dictating what risk we take for our children. That should be a parental choice based on what is in the best interest for their families and their children.
By giving the parents the option of choosing online/social distancing options this will also reduce the number of kids in the classroom reducing the risk of transmission of the virus. This is not the governments decision to make. This is a parental decision!
