Allegedly, the demolition of historic Vicar Street terrace in Kilkenny is to happen this Monday, 9th Feb 2014, despite persistent calls, most recently from Kilkenny Archaeological Society to desist. What a phenomenal disgrace if these houses are knocked down, in particular, considering the legal & planning limbo the whole central access scheme appears to be in. (Dec 2014, Kilkenny County Council applied to An Bord Pleanala for retention of the construction of the Central Access Scheme Bridge completed so far on the banks of the river Nore! A blatant evidence that the council did not comply with planning permission granted to it.). Details on ABP website.
