The R72 between East London and Port Alfred in South Africa has become one of the most dangerous roads in the country. Virtually every single day there is an accident and even fatalities along the road. Families have been left full of sorrow and heart ache, communities left in disbelief as the local roads agency has failed to make any movement to help the issue out.

The only way we can get something to happen is to:
Get more active law enforcement involved.
Ask key players in the area to put pressure on the local authorities to put traffic calming measures in place.
Reduction of speed limit along the road with constant enforcement.
Create traffic calming zones at turn offs.
Better road markings on the road.

I am a resident of Kidds Beach and daily when driving on the R72 it is like a gauntlet now with speeding drivers, drunk driving and reckless endangerment of both my wife and I.
