Kick Israel Out of Football: AFC Bournemouth, Refuse the Fixture
The Issue
On 28 January 2027, AFC Bournemouth are scheduled to play Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the UEFA Europa League.
PSM is calling on Bournemouth to refuse this fixture, and on FIFA and UEFA to suspend Israeli teams from international football.
A UN Commission of Inquiry has concluded that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. UN human rights experts have called for Israel’s national team to be suspended from international football.
The British Government has stated that Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory is unlawful. In March 2026, FIFA sanctioned the Israel Football Association for breaches involving discrimination and racist abuse.
Yet Israeli teams continue to compete internationally.
Football’s governing bodies have the power to act. In 2022, FIFA and UEFA suspended Russian clubs and national teams from their competitions. We are calling for action now.
Our demands
- AFC Bournemouth must refuse the fixture against Hapoel Be’er Sheva on 28 January 2027.
The Football Association must publicly support Israel’s suspension and urge FIFA and UEFA to act. - FIFA must suspend the Israel Football Association from international football.
- UEFA must suspend Israeli national and club teams from its competitions.
- Football clubs and national associations must refuse fixtures against Israeli-affiliated teams while the genocide in Gaza and unlawful occupation continue.
- These demands are directed at the Israeli state, the Israel Football Association and football’s governing bodies. This is a peaceful campaign. Antisemitism, Islamophobia, racism, threats and harassment have no place in it. Jewish communities, individual Israeli citizens, players and supporters must not be targeted.
