NASPA is an organization for student affairs professionals in the field of higher education and is scheduled to host its 2016 conference in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), signed into law on March 26, 2015, allows for businesses to deny service to individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, or asexual (LGBTQIA).  Holding the conference in a state that allows for this type of discrimination exposes members of NASPA to an unsafe environment and one in which their civil liberties are denied.  We call on NASPA to divest in LGBTQIA discrimination in Indiana and in any RFRA state!
