I support the Clean Slate Initiative in Kentucky, which would automatically clear eligible non-violent criminal records after a set period of time.

Legislation to create Clean Slate in Kentucky has now been filed as Senate Bill 290 (SB 290). We urge members of the Kentucky General Assembly to support and advance this legislation.

We, the undersigned Kentucky residents, urge you to support and advance Clean Slate legislation that would automatically clear eligible non-violent criminal records after a person has completed their sentence and remained crime-free for a defined period of time.

Thousands of Kentuckians face lifelong barriers to employment, housing, and stability because of old records, even when they have fulfilled all legal obligations. Clean Slate removes unnecessary administrative barriers while maintaining public safety and accountability.

Automatic record clearance:

- Expands workforce participation

- Strengthens families and local economies

- Reduces recidivism by improving access to opportunity

- Applies only to eligible, non-violent cases under clear statutory guidelines

We respectfully urge you to support Clean Slate policies that give people who have paid their debt to society a fair chance to move forward and contribute fully to their communities.
