Please help us petition the Kennel Club to stop the use of extortion by unethical breeders and help our beautiful Fox Red Labrador [Ballymara's Liesel] have pedigree puppies which can be Kennel Club registered. 

To ensure healthy breeding of puppies, breeding endorsements with the Kennel Club can be placed by dog breeders when puppies are sold. These are then lifted when the puppies reach maturity and all the listed health checks have been done and passed. It is important as it ensures genetic problems are not handed down through the generations.

The Breeder can lift the restrictions and so can the Kennel Club.but they won't  even thought their processes clearly state the breeder must provide a copy of the contract of sale or it will be found in the new owner's favour. Our breeder has refused to do this yet they are still not lifting them. I am at a total loss to understand why.

We had all the health tests done, which Ballymara Liesel passed with flying colours but the breeder  tried every delaying tactic in the book, even suggesting we bred the puppies before she lifted them. Had we followed her wishes, we would have a litter of puppies, we could not KC register and therefore could not be sold as registered pedigree dogs, so she could have demanded however much money she wanted.

As it was she went for £500  and, even better, wanted this deposited with her before she did anything. We acquiesced because we had no choice, but stated it had to go through a solicitor, else she could have just demanded more and more. Because we thwarted her she became abusive, aggressive and refused to lift them at all. 

Currently the Kennel Club's position is not to get involved. My petition is to the Kennel Club that, where their registration service is being used by unethical breeders to extort more money [never before discussed and not listed in the orignal contract of sale], and all listed medical/breeding tests have been met, the Kennel Club  should override the breeder and allow the registration of the puppies.

We are extremely ethical breeders where the dogs are first and foremost our pets, live with us for life and are only bred very much within KC guidelines. We are very choosy about who we sell to, visit their future homes and keep in touch with our owners via Social Media and take the puppies back in when the owners go on holiday. Unfortunately everyone is not like us as we have found to our cost.
