Vote 16 Vancouver is a student-led organization based in Vancouver, BC. Our mission is to lower the municipal voting age in Vancouver to 16 because we believe that Vancouver’s youth deserve a voice in government. We strive to inspire political engagement among teens and to empower our peers to create change. Many countries all around the world have already implemented this change including Cuba and Scotland. We believe that by lowering the voting age, we will not only increase voter turnout, but also promote a culture of civic engagement in citizens from an early age.
