Keimani's Law

Keimani's Law
The Issue
Our children's safety is increasingly at stake due to the abandoned and unclaimed structures littering our communities. As a worried parent, I fear for the lives of our children who are at risk every single moment. These abandoned buildings serve as hideouts for criminals who prey on innocent children, and it has to stop. Keimani's Law is a proposed legislation that demands the demolition of any structures abandoned for a year or longer, which have neither been renovated nor rehabilitated.
Each year, over a thousand children are discovered in such deserted homes, victims of the most heinous crimes (National Missing and Unidentified Persons System). Often, these buildings are havens for abductors and sexual offenders, trapping the innocent and making our communities less safe. It is an alarming reality that can affect any of our children — your child, my child, anyone's child.
The implementation of Keimani's Law not only eradicates these menacing dwellings but also signifies a stand against those who use them as places of torment. One less abandoned building is one less place for these abusers to hide, making a significant difference in the safety of our community's minors.
The sight of lifeless bodies being carried out of these buildings should motivate us all into immediate action. The dangers these abandoned buildings pose are too critical to be passively overlooked. Let's unite and call upon our elected representatives to enforce Keimani's Law, ensuring these structures are torn down and no longer pose a threat to our young ones. Sign this petition and support the implementation of Keimani's Law. Together, we can make our communities safer for all children.
