With the current climate surrounding the ongoing issues that are coming out of Parliament, it is safe to say that right now Women across our country are feeling Unsettled. Angry. Sad. Disturbed. Confronted. Triggered and Scared.

Over the last few weeks I've had discussions with family members and friends and I have stated that what hope have we got to see the change if our own 'leaders' are not even pretending to care anymore. We have seen Brittany Higgins be called a "lying cow". We have seen our PM stumble over the date he was supposedly made aware of this claim. We have seen 'men' masturbating over a female PMs desk in her workplace office.

I could go on but we are all aware of the recent events as it is everywhere right now and we are seeing our PM trying his very hardest to go into damage control.

In my opinion. Too little too late and that's only IF you believe that the other day his tears were of a genuine nature and not just from someone who realises he has lost a hell of a lot of credibility and knows his title of PM is on the line so let's give the people what they want to hear.

Enough of the words! Empty words with empty promise is not what brings about change.   Now we need to see action. Now we need a Government that will take a strong stand against not just Sexual Violence against Women but Violence against Women of any sort.

There isn't going to be a  magic singular solution for this to happen but ANY CHANGE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION IS GOOD CHANGE and it will come in many different ways.

The change that this campaign is fighting for is to see tougher penalties introduced that will make it easier to prosecute those who commit Sexual Assaults on Women.

If you have followed this campaign you will know all about the new offence the Grab and Drag Law that we have proposed. More often than not we see the beginnings of a Sexual Assualt occur where the predator grabs and drags his victim off the street.

This new offence will fill the much-needed gap of available sentences when it comes to crimes of this nature.

The Victorian Law Reform Commissioner has added this proposal to the Inquiry on Improving the Response of the Justice System to Sexual Assaults and we have until the 2nd April for our voices to be heard.  I urge you all to please consider making a submission before the deadline.

Together let's get this done and be a huge part of the change that is so desperately needed.

Thank you
